transience and floating wood

look at social media and
consider desire for form.

i want a new coat.
i want a gray pair of pants,
midnight blue socks,
brown or black leather clogs.

i want a gray house
with a black stove.

a stand of trees.

a thick needle through
waxed canvas,
denim,
wool.

look at the ocean
and see the rain dimple it.
look at the birds float atop it.
they do not seem to mind
the rain.

the dimpling
has a pleasing appearance.

the desire for form
does not lessen.
trading form
for form;
every day
we disappear.
