neck tattoo and clear-framed glasses

as it is
normal,
that it is
insane,
is overlooked.
that it is
only one
of many.
that it is
no more
“right”
than anything
else.

the cables
could all be
buried.
walking beneath
nests of wires,
we could be
walking atop them.
sky could be
clear
of artificial tree,
nest made of cable,
wire. the occasional
electrified bird,
twitching,
quietly hissing,
on the pavement.
on the gravel.
on the tiny road.
the sky could be
full
of cloud and
only cloud.
full
of clear and only
clear.
the sky
could be
as it is.
as it is;
unbothered
by our temporary
inclusions.

when the people are part
of our program, part
of our work,
part of our perceived or desired social group,
we say hello. we
ask name. we give
our own.
we make pleasant even
if opposite. or,
we size up so as to
compete. so
as to maintain current
position, perceived
position, hoped for
position.

it is
normal
as it is
frequent.
it is
frequent
as we are
used
to it.
as we are
used
to it
we call it
normal.
we think it
inevitable,
if we think of it
at all; anything,
we can bring
anything, into
existence.
