there is no hole
in the water
yet the bird exited
through a hole.
i see it,
the hole,
where the bird
disappeared.
it’s just water,
this hole,
like the water
that surrounds it.
a hole,
characterized by
absence,
disappears from
waters’ surface.
a bird,
previously floating,
disappears.
i woke to float
freely in this
thin atmosphere.
i woke to practice
at forgiveness.
a hole is
characterized by
absence,
yet here
we together
are.
