it gets a little lonely in the expansive evening

we like to
measure things
so we
invented time.

it seems like
maybe
we have a
good bit of it,
time, but
it goes pretty quick.

we give away
our time
so that we can be
given money
in return.

we take this
money and
use it to try to
buy back our
time.

and time,
invented.
and money,
invented.
but
we haven’t yet
really figured out
how to get
more time.

we think ourselves
impoverished
when we have
very little money,
though is it
dwindling time
that really renders us
pauper?

do you have
a friend or
two?
do you have
someone you love
who also loves
you?

there isn’t so much
time;
friends,
thank you
for the time
you shared
with me.

those who
dislike me,
i am sorry
for the time
you gave me,
time that i
mishandled.

loves,
past
present
and
future,
thank you
and
i am sorry
and
please,
while there is
still time,
forgive me.
